Travis was born in Thibodaux, LA, and grew up in a lot of places. His essays about family, culture, and pedagogy have been published or are forthcoming in Cleaver Magazine, Hobart, Bull Men’s Fiction, Bridge Eight, The Dead Mule School of Southern Literature, The Good Men Project, pioneertown, and elsewhere. He has also co-authored two textbooks about speaking. When he is not talking about books and writing at Keiser University, he is teaching his son to hold the bat with two hands. He loves his family, Mardi Gras, and the Oxford Comma.
